Part II: Screening and Diagnosis
This section of the module discusses special issues and concerns regarding breast cancer screening and diagnosis for women with disabilities, including the finding that women with major mobility disabilities are less likely to undergo regular mammography screening. Also included is a discussion of how to counsel and prepare women with disabilities for such screening. In addition, the section provides step-by-step instructions on how to adapt the clinical breast exam to meet the special needs of women with disabilities. The section ends with a discussion of how percutaneous breast biopsies can be accommodated for women with disabilities to ensure a successful biopsy.
