Women with Disabilities: An Introduction to the Curriculum
This introductory module provides an overview of the current healthcare disparities experienced by women with disabilities. It defines "disability" and "living with a disability" and describes the demographics of women with disabilities. It also outlines the special healthcare needs of this patient population and why those needs often remain unmet. In addition, the module offers discussion questions for women with disabilities and for healthcare providers. A bibliography is included.
